The municipality of Pholoe includes the administrative divisions of Koumani, Achladini, Douka, Nemouta, Milies, Persaina, Pholoe, Neraida and the administrative centre of the area Lala lying on an area of 45,000 acres at 600 m of altitude. The Municipalty has a population of 4.870 residents and its name derives from the local plateau where lies the famous forest of 53,000 acres.
The forest is also known as Kapeli, which means abundance and is one of the biggest forests in Greece. According to legend, the Pholoe was the home of Pan and Artemis. The cult of Pan was brought by the Arcadians who settled in the area during the prehistoric period. Nepheli, the goddess of rain and mother of the centaurs also lived here together with her sons and the nymphs. The Pholos, the king of the centaurs, gave his name to the forest. During antiquity, the plateau belonged to ancient Ilis. The forest is an excellent place for hiking and cycling. You can also try kayaking at the Erymanthos River which lies nearby. This beautiful corner of ilia is covered by steep hills and cliffs, gorges, springs, fertile fields, rivers and picturesque villages.

It is placed 6,9 kilometres Easternly of Lala. According to the 2001 inventory, the municipal administrative division of Achladini, had 520 residents with the settlement Koutsouroumpa (42).
The Municipal Administrative Division of Douka
It is placed 3,1km Northernly of Lala According to the 2001 i nventory, the municipal administrative division of Douka had 191 residents including the Lasdika settlement (85).
The Municipal Administrative Division of Koumani
The Koumani is placed 50km far from the City of Pyrgos, 70 km far from Patra and 90km from Tripoli. It is an ever-green area at 600 meters altitude. The area is covered with a big forest surrounded by rocky mountains. Two rivers, the Gkoura and the Koumaneiko, cross this area. Next to it is placed the famous Kapeli oks forest.
At the centre of the village there is the camp of the Cristian Youth Association (XAN), hosting hundreads of children every year.
According to the 2001 inentory its population is 719 residents including the Ai Giannaki (13) and the Kastania (47) settlement.
The Municipal Administrative Division of Lala
In the municipal administrative division of Lala it is the administrative centre of the Municipality. It was built round 1718 by the TurkishAlbanians taxcollectors who became rich due to the money handling the money around the Ilia region.
After the Greek Revolutionary Fights 1821 the local groups of residents undertook successively the local sovereignty. The Foloi Municipality, that took the name from the Foloi plateau where according to the legend lived the Kentayroi and the Dryades nymphs of forest 15 kilometres far from the Ancient Olympia and 35 km far from the City of Pyrgos.

Next to the forest, there is the Erymanthos River, with its beautiful side-landscapes and the stone bridges ideal for activities kayak etc.
The Lala according to the last inventory has 1166 residents including the settlement Pothos (168). The local residents deal with the agriculture and the livestock-farming, while the region is famous for the particular quality of cherry trees production.

The Municipal Administrative Division of Nemouta
It is found 8,8 kilometres of A of [Lala].
