Foloi
The unique Greek forest with an area of 218,000 acres, consisting of oak. It is incorporated in the NATURA 2000 network because of the scale, which is estimated from the ancient times.
Located in the Mountain Ileia. It borders from the east side with the river Erimanthos, from the west side with the village Simopoulos and the south side with villages Nemouta, Lalas and Dukas. Administratively belongs to the municipalities of Lasionos-Folois. It took its name from the king of the Centaurs,Folo, friend of Hercules(in the Greek Mythology).
Kapeli
Kapeli is dry durring the summer period. Maintained only by the humidity, which is remaining on the ground because of the density of trees that doesn’t leave the sun to pass. The environmental quality of the forest is confirmed by its important area for the birds of Greece. Determined to preserve the natural habitats of wild fauna and flora.
